Scrap Class LO # 5

This was a fun page to do, I used Lay Out # 5 from my Folder. I used a piece of DSP over a Plain piece of Card stock. The DSP has punched out scallop circles and a large circle that was hand cut. 

Below are shot of different areas on the page, there are six different spots that I'd like to share what I did.

This is the cupcake, punched out using the "Cupcake Builder" punch from Stampin' Up!

I coloured it with the Blendabilities Pens, the  New Alcohol based pens, from Stampin' Up! they are great to use for shading. I used the "Candy Dots" for 'sprinkles' and cut out the candle and cherry to place on top.







Here is the 'cake' also coloured using the Blendabilities Pens, then fussy cut and placed onto a blue punched out circle. You can also see one end of the tag where I used Chevron ribbon threaded through and bakers twine to tie it together.

Here you can see the Scallop circle punched out of the DSP and then images stamped in the cutout.


The balloon was stamped onto the DSP and again on a piece of Whisper White card stock, coloured in and fussy cut and placed back onto the stamped image, with a dimensional to raise it.

This image shows the bottom left corner with buttons that have Rhinestones in them that have been coloured with the small end of  a Blendabilities Pen. It's great to have these pens in the catalogue now. 

here you can see that the inside of the large circle has background stamping and the balloons which has one fussy cut out, raised and coloured.

80th Male Birthday Card

 This is what I created for my husband's Mother to give to her Brother-in-law; 
OK it was for my husbands Uncle, but not from us - it was an order from Beryl for Stephen!  

The Card is Early Espresso with Very Vanilla and stamped with Crumb Cake using stamps from 'Gorgeous Grunge'. 

I love this set for male cards especially though it is a good background for other cards as well.

I heat embossed with Gold onto a piece of Early Espresso, added a gold brad in each corner and 'popped' it onto the Vanilla with 4 dimensionals. 

The stamps I used for the heat embossing were from the 'Memorable Moments' set.

 I used 'The Great Outdoors' stamp set for the images, the ants are my favourite, and they are always at camping. Uncle Stephen loved to go camping in his younger days that's why I stamped 'Remember When' from 'Word Play'  stamp set. I stamped onto Very Vanilla with Early Espresso and 'Fussy' Cut around the words.

Below is a close up of the 'Fishing Bag' made from a piece of Burlap Ribbon. I cut off a piece of burlap, tapered the front and stuck the sides down with Sticky Strip, put a black brad in the flap and stuck a glue dot on the back to hold it. the handle is twine.

Thank You Cards 3 of 4

I hope your Mid Week is turning out really special.

Here are another four of the thank you cards

In the top Left card I stamped off which makes the image look softer, and faded, especially if you compare it to the one on the right.

The images are from the "Elegant Eleanor" stamp set; I love the swirl, and use it quite a lot as a background.

When colouring the image of the flower, I used my pens, colouring the center first then the petals, starting with the lightest pen first.


The colours are slightly different in the second top card where I used blue to colour the petals in the first instance, I used a pink in the second one.

Both the Labels are my favourites...and I use them a lot as you will have probably noticed in this series of cards. The smaller one is Modern Label and fits in the center of the Decorative punch label which is another way of using them.

The bottom two cards have a piece of DSP in check, and from the same pack, I fussy cut out some flowers.

The card above left has three different sized strips for another effect. The Decorative Label has been cut to make it straight along the top and bottom edges, simply to make it unique.

The Decorative Label in the last card [bottom right] has been modified quite a bit, you would ordinarily think it is from the same punch would you?

For me to explain how to get this effect, is going to be tricky, so you'll have to come back and look at another post in the coming weeks.
